Okay, I'm currently using Daddy's laptop. Haha, 'cause my own laptop is so super uuper slow! And the reason why I want to blog now instead of sleeping is because ... I'm not going to use my laptop for like, 2 days? And I've got tons of things to blog about. Haha!

18th May 2009 - 20th May 2009 marks the days of my first camp as a G.I. attachee; Pierce Secondary School. (:

It's really an experience that I valued a lot. They were secondary school kids, a bit of the hard side to lead. 'Cause they thinks they know everything, but in actual fact, they're only trying to act cool. How I know? 'Cause I've been through that phase too. HAHA.

I'm in-charge of Team 3, attached to Zee Shan aka Zee. He's a good G.I. Really, he can facilitate well, participants can really relate well to him. Haha, I can say that I've learnt so much from him. (:

First day activities included the water activities. (: Kayaking, sea-rafting and river crossing. My team didn't get to do kayaking 'cause of wet weather. Lol, and our team members were upset over it! Lol, 'cause they said that they spent $90+ to kayak. o.o Lol. Kind of cute right? Haha.

Lights off at 11pm plus, had a debrief with our Camp Chief; Sky which ended at 1am plus. Sheesh. And we immediately went to bed. 'Cause there's a whole long stretch of activities waiting for us the next day.

Second day was even more tiring. God. Land activities for my side the whole day. Abseiling, wall climbing, followed by the Challenge Rope Course. Sheesh. And Jay made me go up the Challenge Pole again! Rarrr! Lol. The one I had for final challenge at Pre-IIP Camp at RP. Lol. And again, I didn't get to catch it again. ): ): But what matters was that I did dare to go up and jump. Lol, and that only happened because I don't want to lose my pride in front of my campers. Lol!

Had campfire night, and we were told to set up the campfire sitting arrangment and the fire. Definitely a new experience for me. Haha, 'cause I've never set up a campfire from scratch before. And I like it! Haha!

The second night ended a little bit later. Same time for lights off, but debrief ended a bit later. 1.30am. However~ We need to settle some stuffs for our campers which is due the next morning when they leave. So, most of us ended up sleeping at round 3am to 4am plus. God. And we have to wake up at 6am plus. Which left us about 2 hrs to sleep.

Jasmine and I woke up with our eyes closed man! Lol! We can't even put on our contact lens! Lol. Which turn out my campers were saying that I'm not their Instructor Yvonne anymore. Lol, kind of cute to me. Haha!

Break camp, la la la. And we had the day off! Haha! So I reached home at round 6pm plus. 'Cause I went to meet Eils. I hadn't saw her for ages! Haha!

After this camp, there's more camps coming up. Most of them back-to-back. So I'll be expecting myself to be staying there for quite some time. Sigh aye aye. Can foresee that I'll be very tired. Lol.

Just finished my weekly essays for the week. Sheesh, I'm really beginning to lose the ideas to write about the essays. Hope the camps we're going to have will refresh whatever I have. (:

Tomorrow's the camp for Pierce Sec as a Group Instructor Attachee. Secondary school, hmm. Something I don't really have confidence in. If it's primary school, I'll have a bit of confidence. 'Cause of coaching, you see.

But nonetheless, I'll still have to face it. And whenever I thought of the camp, my heart will leap into a race and I don't know why. Gahh. Have to get to Camelot by 9pm tonight, 'cause there's a briefing. Sheesh. Sky's the camp chief for this camp, will get to see how he works now. (:

Hmm. I realized one thing though. Other than losing the ideas for write the essays, I think I've too lost my touch to blog. I can't seem to blog as I wish now. And I really like to wonder why. Bleah.

Nevermind what it is. I shall just blog down in point-forms about the things that happened recently. (:

• Gossip Girl Season Two's gonna air its last episode tomorrow in the States. Darn. Would have to wait till August!.
• I'm so going to miss Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf.
• Had kayak expedition on Wednesday when I experienced my first sea-sickness.
• Which too leaves my whole body lingering in pain, against those waves and currents and wind. Gahh.
• Went to collect my pay and TST today.
• I miss those kids so so much!
• Justine, Joey, Edward, Kang Qi. OMG.
  

Okay, I think that's all I have to report. Lol. Shall go tie up some loose ends of packing. (: Ciaos. (:

I need a notebook. No, I need a journal. To pen down my thoughts for these 16 weeks, Sky's idea. Nice actually, maybe I should drop a visit to the Artbox some time. Two weeks had flew by, well. Not really flew by, but drove by. And it's the third week tomorrow, the admin week. Since our mentors, aka the intructors are on leave from tomorrow onwards.

After next week, we'll get real busy. 'Cause it's the camp week. Whoo. Being a GI attachee. Haha.

Celebrated Mothers' Day with Dad's side of the family yesterday at The Yan Palace. Omg, it has been ages since we last went there! And I really missed the food theree. YUMMM.

The main leads should had been the Moms. But Baby Leon ended up the main lead, as per usual. Haha!

Time to do another WE. And another, since we'll be busy the next week. Gahhh. Two in a row, and I have no idea how to go about doing it, again. Sheesh.

It had been so long since I last heard this song. Haha. And it has also been quite some time since I last blogged. Haha.

But there's a reason why I'm blogging today despite the fact that I'm super tired, and I still have to wake up freaking early tomorrow.

'Cause I'm so freaking unlucky today! Grrr.

First, I had diarrhoea this morning. And dumb, I didn't even think of not going to work. Ugh. Am still having the runs all the way even when I reached Camelot. :/ That's the first.

Second, I was caught unprepared and had to go down into the waters today. I didn't bring my wet gear. :/ :/ So imagine what a mess I was in even after I bathed. No undies to change into. Ugh x10. ):

Third, I got stung by a jellyfish today. DAMN. After the kayak thing we had, I idled in the water l like the rest. Halfway through the idling, I felt a stung on my left wrist. Saw nothing initially and Jay asked if it's like one sting or multiple stings. I couldn't really differentiate the pain. So maybe it's some plankton, 'cause there's no lines or something.

But. The stinging sensation continued and I began shouting in pain. THEN. The lines showed. Seriously damn it man, it's the jellyfish sting. The lines surfaced on my skin and it spread. Pandian poured vinegar on it, so that it will ease the pain. And lol, the rest were like saying human pee would work better. So they all want to pee on my hand. LOL. Madness, I rather use the vinegar, first. Haha!

Okay, I've sent Jay the Weekly Essay. So now I'm going to update my MP4, then pack my bag with my wet gear and off to bed I'll go! Ciaos people! :D

There's always a first to everything, (or not)

First week of IIP's over! Haha! All of us were like so happy when Thursday arrived. Lol. It's really such a chore, when we had to make our way down there and out of there. Sheesh. But we're beginning to realize the fun side of it. (:

The first day of IIP, eh no. The first week of IIP's actually observing. (: Observing how the G.I.s (Group Instructors) works. For example like, how they would interact with the kids, how they would teach them to work together and stuffs.

The first day when we reported to work, there's a bunch of kids from Qi Hua Pri Sch reporting for camp at the same time. Initially the six of us got quite bored just standing there, doing nothing. Until after lunch, Sky (our mentor) gave us something to do, to observe them. When we got engaged more.

It's kind of interesting actually, how they got the whole camp to work, to go on.

The same goes on for the second and third day, observing and more observing. Just that the second day was much more of fun because we get to go down into the water to kayak! To help out with the sequences and to ease the chaos. Though I think we did nothing much except to kayak around to tell the kids where to go. Lol.

It's still quite alright. (: And god, kept having the feeling that today's Sunday. But no it's Saturday. Lol. Okay, work again on Monday. Sheesh.

Sky's asking Pandian (Camelot's staff) if we can stay in the dormitory instead. 'Cause it's really a chore for us to wake up early in the morning and get back home late. So I'd much rather they'll allow us to stay in the dorm. This way, it'll be better for me. Really, kind of tired of everything at home ... I wonder if it's really a home actually ...

Nonetheless. I just hope we'll get to stay in the dorm! :D Okay, time to get back to writing the Weekly Essays (WE) for the week past. And I have no idea how to go about doing it. Sighs.

I'm starting my IIP tomorrow. Sheesh. Work starts at 9am. All the way to Changi. God. Plus, I don't know what time I will end work. Sigh.

Training week tomorrow. Hmm, and I don't know what to expect tomorrow! Ugh. Training week ... What do we have to train?! Our guts and all? There's no need! We had prepared ourselves with the camp we had last week already! Haha!

Whatever it is, I have to work till August. :| I'm so going to miss school. Okay, I want to go pack my bag already. Bye and nights peopl! Will try to blog as often as I can about the IIP. Lol. Seriously hope we'll be able to cope it. (:

Learn and Cherish

I'M BACK FROM CAMP, PEOPLE. Haha! 5 days 4 night's gone just like that. Laughs, and I'm please to say that I really enjoyed it a lot. Haha. I'll break down the entries into 5 entries; one on each day. So ... you can choose to either read it or not.

The entries will be below! Lol, will be editing the time later. *grins* Before I start breaking down on what happened, in these 5 days, I think I'll start off with what I've learnt and feel about this camp? Haha. Of course I can, it's my blog. LOL.

Okay okay, jokes aside. I really enjoyed this camp seriously. I mean, apart from missing my family and friends, apart from missing my phone and laptop, apart from missing out on updates from intothetwilight.net, it's really alright. I really like it.

The people are fun, the activities are interesting and challenging, the time were being managed pretty well, the whole camp wasn't too stressing or tight.

Also from this camp, I've learnt the importance of a lot of other stuffs. Things like water, wind, and our fan. The basics of our life, and how dependent we are on it. More on that later. (:

Through this camp, I've learnt a lot from David and Pamela; our trainers, and my team mates; Amundsen, and too Hilary; our camp mates. I've learnt to think like a trainer, know what to expect for my IIP and am actually finding myself looking forward to it.

The people too! I've grew closer to them, much closer. Before this camp, yes I did know everybody 'cause I was in every classes (thanks for changing class everyday, eh? -.-). But we were all acquaintances, hi-bye friends, I would say. But through this camp, we've bonded really close. And I really like it. (: (:

Though we won't see each other for four months, I believe we'll still be able to catch up on each other.

IIP Preparation Camp DAY ONE

Day 1, 20th April 2009

I remember packing tons of stuffs for my camp the day before. I remember making my last checks on stuffs like my emails, and updates from intothetwilight.net. Laughs. Enough of intothetwilight, I know. Haha.

Walked to school with Eils, her first day of school! Haha. Lugging my baggages with me, goodness! Ain't it heavy! Bag plus shoe bag plus 1 litre bottle. Only that the shoe bag didn't include only shoes but my sleeping bag, and the bag's super bulky. Didn't manage to use Carol's bag, 'cause it's too small. Haha. Ended up using my coaching bag 'cause it's the biggest bag I could find.

Was already perspiring like mad when I reached RP Sports Complex. The first one to reach, but not for long. 'Cause from far, I could see Mia, Yanni, Jazlyn and Lydia walking toward the Sports Complex too. Steven too, appearing out of no where. Haha!

Okay so when everybody arrived, we (34 of us) were being splited into 2 groups; Amundsen and Hilary. My team mates included Steven, Jazlyn, Lydia, Mia, Sandy, Melko, Sasi, Douglas, Norman, Kang Wen, Hong Peng, Jolene, Cherie, Hui Yu, Jina and Bernard.

We started with some ice-breaking games, just like any other camps. But the activities included for the day were the challenges at the ALC. GOD.

'Cause I had phobia for heights! OMG. I got stuck up there for like quite some time. Held the team back, I think. But they didn't blame me for that and instead encourage me to go further. That's what I call team spirit~ Haha!

Another challenge, the high wall. We're suppose to get the whole 17 of us over this super high wall! Goodness! Two guys got up first, Sasi and Douglas got up first to pull us girls over. God, when it was my turn, I'm super afraid I'll break their arms mann! 'Cause I'm so super heavy! Goodness!

But they managed to do it, asking us all the kicked up our right leg, so that the girls pulled over could pull us in. Lol, because of that action, all of us got bruises all over! Inner thigh, and abrasions on my right arm. Lol.

Outdoor cooking and pitching of tents after that. I'm in-charge of pitching tents for the first night. Lol, and without knowing, I actually poke the tent poles into the red ants nest. I was freaked out totally! Plus I didn't know it until Sasi who helped me told me. Ants were over his leg, that's why. Sorry Sasi! Haha.

Dinner after that and bath time! Yay! It was sooooooo refreshing! But this refreshing feeling didn't stay for long. ): 'Cause after bath, it's about time to sleep already. And before long, we were all perspiring already! God!

My tent mates were Jazlyn and Lydia. Lol, we spent the first night on the ground sheet without even bothering to spread out our sleeping bags. 'Cause it's too warm already!

**Side track. The stars were really pretty that night! :D

I think we didn't even spread out our sleeping bags at all for the whole camp! We just merely used it as pillows. Lol.

And I think I fell asleep quite fast. 'Cause Jaz and Lyd said that it was quite noisy that night. But I didn't hear a thing. Most prolly because I'm dead beat from the fears of ALC already. Haha!

End of Day One, and I shall begin on Day 2, 21st April 2009.

IIP Preparation Camp DAY TWO

Day 2, 21st April 2009.

Woke up with body sores the next day! Ahh! Goodness! Thanks to the hard ground we're sleeping on. Hmph. We slept at 11pm, woke up at 6am. NICE.

Hmm. I forgot what we had for breakfast ... Lol, nvm. Not important huh. Haha, I just remembered something about pandan cake. Haha.

The day events include a walk (or rather kneel) through a maze, and sport climbing.

The maze. Goodness, it was so dark! We can't even see our hands if we were to put it in front of us right in the face! No! And Russell came taunting me. Lol, 'cause I was freaked out at the ALC right? And he's the one who led me through the last the stages. Haha, though he's from the other team. But who cares, right? We're all from DOAL. Haha!

So he came tauting me to see if I'm afraid. Lol! 'Cause it's dark and all, y'know. To which I told him so I wasn't la, 'cause I was never really afraid of dark. Apart from the slight night blindness I have. But. Even without the night blindness, I can't see in it too! Haha!

When we (sub-teams of five, Mel Me Cherie Jaz & Hui Yu, in order) walked in, the container were pitch dark! And we're suppose to figure our way out. Sheesh. I was beginning to hyperventiliate man, seeing how dark it was. But it was alright afterwards. 'Cause I could see the fun in it. Haha! Really interesting!

Sports climbing afterwards. I had only wanted to belay, 'cause hands would be super tired if I were to climb. But, I couldn't fight the urge to climb instead. Lol, so I did for one round and gah. It's really sore for my arms! Signal to loose weight again. Haha!

After the sports climb, it's the same as the first day. Outdoor cooking, and bath.

**Side track, our DOAL people pass their lifesaving test! Haha! Left with BM. Haha!

But after the bath we need to repack our bags for the Ubin trip. Haha, quite alright with that. Just that our bag became super super big.

Again, another night without wind. But Jaz thought of a superb idea. Filling the water bags with ice and water. Haha! It's so super cooling!

So I hugged it to sleep and something set me thinking. It's something like hugging Edward Cullen to sleep! Haha! Cold and kind of hard. But it's so small. ): Only at my chest and tummy area. Lol. How nice it would be if there's really a vampire whom I can hug to sleep right? Haha!

IIP Preparation Camp DAY THREE

Day 3, 22nd April 2009

Off to Ubin, here we go! Haha, woke up super early to depart RP with our super heavy bags and water bags and jerry (I'm not sure if it's spelt like that, though) cans.

People were actually singing on our way to Changi Jetty. But I fell asleep. And when I woke up at the destination, it was all quiet already! Laughs, everybody were dead beat! Lol!

Even before we set off to Ubin, mosquitoes had already begin their feast! Most of us were hopping around, swatting them away.

Reached the court and we split up to begin our Land Expedition. Sub-team with Sasi, Norman, Mia, Sandy, Melko, Douglas, Cherie, Kang Wen. And I had to hone up my skills in following the map! 'Cause we had to lead the teams to different checkpoints to fulfill our quest.

Halfway through the quest, when we were at Checkpoint 3, Kang Wen came running to us suddenly telling Sasi that a monkey took his thrill-mix (our lunch when we're kayaking tmr) away.

But Sasi didn't believe him, me too. 'Cause ... Would you believe? A monkey? BUT. When Sasi made his way over, not to check his thrill-mix but to continue searching for the clue, he saw a monkey taking a plastic bag up the tree.

As his eyes followed the monkey, he saw it opening the bag and eating. Haha! And he began swearing at he monkey! LOL! The whole scene was super hilarious! Goodness! And we witness some pretty "good shows" from the monkeys too. Haha! We even saw a young wild boar. Except that it doesn't even look like a young. It looked ... huge. Haha.

In the end, we couldn't find the clues. It's super hard! God. So we ended up viewing Chek Jawa instead. Haha, it's a really pretty scene! And to think I had no idea how pretty these places can be! (:

After the expedition, we proceeded back to the meeting area and had a debrief. After which, we headed towards Republic @ Ubin. Some place which belongs to RP, I'd say.

AND GOD. THERE'S NO WATER FOR US TO BATHE. EEEEEK. AND ALL OF US HAD TO GO WITHOUT SHOWER FOR THREE DAYS TWO NIGHTS.

It's really a back-to-basic kind of living you know! The water wasn't even clean, not alone mentioning how little the flow was.

So can you imagine how the 34 of us felt? After a day of walk, and mozzies bites, but no bath. Straightaway dinner and sleep. Ugh. We just had to make do with wiping our body. :[

Again, another hard time trying to fall asleep for Lydia, Jazlyn and me. 'Cause it's so freakin' hot! Ugh. And all of us were praying hard for wind, not just the three of us but the whole 34 of us. Lol.

Our prayers were being heard, really. But ... way too heard I would say. 'Cause there's rain. And lightning. And thunders. Storm, actually. Lol. So the people woke us up to move into the shed and sleep inside.

But it wasn't any better. 'Cause I felt cobwebs all over. Ugh.
